Gay marriage in Maine

The state of Maine has legalized gay marriage and opponents are trying to pass a proposition 8-style ballot measure to stop it. Gay marriage supporters are framing the issue as a basic civil rights issue. There's their first commercial:

  1. MediaCurves.com just conducted a study with 851 viewers of an ad by Truth and Hope supporting gay marriages. The results showed that Democrats and Independents reported ‘happiness’ and ‘inspiration’ as the emotions they felt most during the ad while Republicans reported ‘disturbed’ and ‘happiness’ as the emotions they felt most while viewing the ad. The study also found that 83% of Democrats, 77% of Independents, and 58% of Republicans indicated that the ad was effective. 2. Thanks Ben, interesting numbers. Not surprising about the republicans, but nice to know the democrats and independents are onside.

My post of this video on youtube got an interesting comment. Apparently some people still think marriage is not a right for everyone...
